Detroit, MI. Last night was the start of a four game series, and the story of two teams going in opposite directions. Going into yesterday’s battle, the Twins had lost eight in a row after a beat down coming at the hands of the Atlanta Braves. Meanwhile, the Tigers just got finished with a must win series, in my opinion. Josh Willingham, a native of Florence Alabama, staked his team to a 5-2 lead, but as the story goes, to be a good team you have to have the art of pitching and the art of hitting. As we found out on Thursday night, just because you have a 5-2 lead early in the game doesn’t mean you will have success later in the baseball game. The Tigers are trying to hunt down the Tribe, meanwhile the Twins continue to flounder due to their lack of pitching. The only Twins player that has a heart is the Florence Alabama native Josh Willingham. What can you say about number 24 Miguel Cabrera? The guy continues to murder the baseball, and he gives the Tigers a much needed weapon in their lineup. The Tigers may be World Series material, but it is too early to tell. Ask me in August or September when it really counts. The Twins are missing one key player whether it is through free agency or through the draft. The Twins cannot rely on Willingham to do it alone! At least the Tigers have Torii for another year, Prince for another seven years, and Justin for another six years. The cupboard is stocked for a long time.
