I’m not buying the fact that it was game one of a seven game series, Devan Dubnyk should have been ready to play, but he wasn’t. On the other end of the rink, St. Louis Blues goalie Jake Allen stood there like a statue and stoned the Wild holding them to only one goal by Zach Parise with 23 seconds left in the third period which led to the game going into overtime.

The Wild need to come out Friday night with more intensity than the Blues by finishing plays around the goal. You just can not have 51 shots on goal with very anemic results. I know it is only game one, but I was expecting to see a much more tougher Wild team than the one I saw on Wednesday night. The Blues shouldn’t have been able to walk into the Xcel Energy Center and make it look like they were playing on their home ice in St. Louis at the Scottrade Center.

If the Wild continue to play like they don’t want to be in the playoffs, then Blues coach, Mike Yeo, will have a free ride to the next round, while Zach Parise and his Wild teammates will have a lot of time to ponder what might have been during the off season.
