Detroit, MI. Even thought the White Sox are in last place in the Central Division, you would never know that at this point. The Sox coming into the series were anemic; they were last in runs scored. After an 11-4 win on Monday night in Detroit, the Tigers were in the perfect position to win another series, but Anibal didn’t have his “A” stuff today. The White Sox scored 22 runs total in the series, and looked nothing like a last place team. After taking an early one to nothing lead, the White Sox were in a great position. Any time you can grab a one to nothing lead on the road, you’re liable to win a series. Number 24 Miguel Cabrera hit his 30th home run on the year. There will be no love lost between the Tigers and the White Sox. I say that because my next point is that I feel that the umpires let the game get away from them. After Cabrera hit the home run, Chicago White Sox starter Chris Sale purposely tried to hit Fielder, and then after the fact there was no warning issued. The umpires had the opportunity to get the game under control after Prince was hit on purpose. Instead of taking control, they let it get way out of hand. A warning should have been issued to Robin Ventura, but instead of taking control and being men about the whole situation, the umpires chose to be cowards and chose not to issue any warnings. In my opinion, it was all done maliciously. Jim Leyland had every right to go out and yell at the umpire, not once but twice. The first time he was not pulled out of the game, but the second time he was. If you’re going to issue a warning, then you should do it when the first incident happened, and have the balls to be men about it! Major League Baseball should be ashamed of themselves. You want to be big babies about it then the umpires should get a spine and walk over to both managers and tell the players to knock it off. The reason why I’m so mad about it is because it took away from a great game. I do have to give the White Sox credit, because anytime you get a grand slam that wipes out a three to one lead, you are very fortunate, especially against the Tigers deadly offense. The nest time that the Tigers and White Sox play will be in a four game series in the US Cellular Field, and hopefully the umpires will take better control of their game, because what we saw this afternoon was a mockery in Detroit. If you want to tell me that the umpires have control, well to me that’s total garbage because if you would have warned Chris Sale right away and told him no more trying to purposely hit Prince Fielder, then that would have taken care of that. If you don’t issue any warnings, then this is the kind of horse manure that you will get, especially when Chris Sale is on the mound. There is no excuse for him to maliciously hurt Fielder, but it is what it is.
