Before the Twins and Tigers did battle, there was a rather lengthy Hall of Fame ceremony to honor the newest members. One of them was Tom Mee, who was the media relations director ever since the Twins moved from our nation’s capital, where they were the Senators, to Minnesota. Then they became the Twins. Also honored tonight was “Everyday Eddie”. He was the Twins closer on several championship ball clubs. The Twins also paraded out several current Hall of Famers; included in their ceremony was former world champion Bert Blyleven. As for tonight’s match up, the Tigers come off a series in which they have lost 2 out of 3 to the Royals. It will be interesting to see how the loss to one of the lower echelon teams in the AL affects the American League Champions. Tonight, the key for Porcello is to trust his ability to pitch, and to trust Alex. Also he can’t leave cookies out over the plate where the Twins hitters, namely Josh Willingham and Joe Mauer, can and will tattoo you all night long. Expect Jim Leyland to have a very short leash on Porcello.
