Everyone expected the Tigers to win the Central Division, and I have a few things to say about what’s going on with the Tigers. In my mind, this weekend is vitally important to the Tigers chances for the rest of the season. Atlanta is coming in to Comerica over the weekend, and the Tigers have not one but two chances to be on national television. I don’t think there is anything wrong with their hitting, you have some big bombers who can bomb the ball. I have no idea why the Tigers wanted Jose to come back. Our pitching is suspect right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Tigers don’t even make the playoffs, they seem like they want to go back and forth with 500. They were 10-9 going into yesterday’s game, but thanks to our pitching we are back at 500. This is not a knock on anybody in the Tigers front office. This about the players who don’t want to play winning baseball right now. Why do I get the feeling that this season is going to turn out as unacceptable? Is it because of the bullpen? I know we have the capability to be a better team than what our record shows. Jose just doesn’t fit in right with the Tigers pen. I’m very disappointed with our 10-10 record. We can play a better brand of baseball than this! We have got to start making hay now or else we won’t be contenders in the division or even the playoffs. I’m totally stunned by the 10-10 start. Jim Leyland is a better manager then that. If anyone can wake up the Tigers, it should be Jim Leyland. It is totally not acceptable of the American League champions, and they know it! I don’t care that you are 10-10, find a way out of it and knock off the losing quickly. It has nothing to do with Leyland, it all has to do with the players. The players are better than 10-10 and they should be ashamed of themselves. Last year means nothing, because even the Twins have your number and it’s time to either put up or be quiet! This is ridiculous. You can’t rely on number 24 every night. You allow five runs to score in your own ball park? Totally unacceptable from the pitching standpoint! It needs to improve quickly, or the Tigers will be a 500 team all year long.
