Well Tigers fans, I have some news for you! Your baseball team is starting to look like the Minnesota Twins from last year. I know it’s early in the season, but with the way the Indians are playing, unfortunately I have to give you the number. The Tigers are barely hanging on to 2nd, and the Royals are breathing down their neck! As far as what happened in Texas, that’s over. Most of you know that I tell it like it is, and I think that we will see some major moves after the All Star break. Leyland’s job is in jeopardy if the Tigers don’t win two in Cleveland. As far as the bullpen, the guys look like minor league pitchers at best, and Alex Thomas Avila has nothing to do with this. The last time I checked, he tried to do the best that he can. I am in no way saying that the Tigers look like Toledo, but I think the longer that they have inexcusable performances, the harder it is to keep Jim Leyland around. I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t already on the hot seat. If not, he should be on the hot seat. There are no excuses after Miguel Cabrera’s performance on Sunday night. I would take a long hard look at Jeff Jones to see what he could do better to help the Tiger bullpen, and their starting pitching. If I was Mr. Dombrowski, I would start taking a look at where we are and where we should be. Then I would also start the hunt for a new manager, because obviously the veterans are not responding. If you want to tell me that the game on Sunday night is the Tigers’ downfall, I would say you might be right, because the big man gave you a free run. The big man also hit a bunch of home runs. It all comes down to the art of pitching. The Tigers’ pitching has been absolutely atrocious this year. Earlier in the season I just gave you the facts. The Indians have a chance to bury the Tigers with a two game sweep, and we can’t afford to get swept in this series. It is time for our offense to wake up, and time for our pitchers to come out of hibernation! If that doesn’t happen, I’m afraid the Tigers have nowhere to go but down. The reason I’m so hard on these American League Champions is because I know they can play better baseball than what they have been playing. Every one of those players who wear the old English “D” on their uniforms needs to step up right now! We didn’t get the American League title by pussy footing around, we got the American League title by several players working their butts off! We haven’t seen any consistent pitching out of 35 or the rest of the bullpen for that matter. I am just giving you the fact of the matter, Tigers fans. The way we pay our players, you would think that bats would come alive, and I’m talking about Mr. Fielder and Mr. Cabrera. This is an absolute must win series! Tomorrow on this website Jeremiah will have a more in depth look at the Pacers vs Heat, and a look back at game one with the Tigers vs Indians.
