Detroit, MI. After being shut out on Sunday 7-0 at the hands of the New York Yankees, today was a new day for the Tigers. After the birth of his first child to number 13 Alex Avila, and after a disappointing start from number 35 Justin Verlander, today the Tigers got seven great innings from number 19 Anibal Sanchez. Also today, the former Angels and former Twins player number 48 Torii Hunter got his 2000th hit, and Alex Avila got a home run. This was his first home run of the year, and it made the score 2-0. The Tigers with the win improved to 4-3, and are now tied with the Twins, who have the same record.
