Do we really have to watch the Tigers throw away games? If we do, I will rip into the players if I have to. The three game sweep at the hands of the Angels I find very disturbing! I thought going into the season that the Tigers would iron out some of their problems with the bullpen, but obviously they didn’t learn in spring training. We cannot be stuck on 42 forever. The Tigers need to examine themselves now, and not later down the road. You would have thought that the Tigers would be playing a better brand of baseball at home. There has to be something wrong with this team if they do not fix their bullpen. If they don’t, they will be looking up at teams that they should be able to annihilate. This is not Jim Leyland’s fault, it’s the players who play the 162 ball games. Right now, it’s a crossroad in their season. If they don’t knock their horse manure playing off, then they will be sitting on their couches in October! First thing is first, we need Mr. Verlander to pull his head out of his behind and start pitching like the guy we know he can pitch like. Jim Leyland can only be a manager, he can’t go out on the field and show people that he and Mr.Dombrowski paid big money to get! If I were Al Avila, I would look no further than my own son. It’s obvious that Alex is struggling at the plate, but that is not something that his father can fix for him. As far as Phil Coke, I don’t know where the heck he is at either, because he is not acting like the pitcher that we saw in the playoffs last season. He needs to go to a psychiatrist and figure out where his head is at! Cokie is a smart guy, but his head is just not in the Motor City. His head is California dreaming. Jose Valverde is a whole other story. That guy should not wear the old english “D” again! To see Miguel swing and miss at pitches thrown at him that he should be able to tattoo is just inexplicable.
