Cleveland, Ohio. The Tigers lead has grown to five. It was a match up of the two Justin’s, Justin Verlander from the Tigers and Justin Masterson from Cleveland. The Tigers were able to decide on the match up early, but the Indians got on the score board early. The Tigers were quickly able to figure out Masterson. After the Tigers tied the game at one, they were able to pull away from the 2nd place Tribe not only on the score board, but in the standings, where they were able to increase their lead from four to five games. They were able to change their lead due to a masterful performance from the 2011 Cy Young winner Justin Verlander, and three runs from a home run. The night before it was Alex Avila, but this time it was Don Kelly who was able to burn the Tribe with a three run bomb off the Indians starter Justin Masterson. Clearly Justin wasn’t able to master the Tigers on this night. Justin Verlander went eight innings. Now all the Indians can do is hope for a split. Tonight the Tigers will go with Doug Fister. Meanwhile, the Indians will look to cut the Tigers lead in half with Danny Salazar.
