New York City, New York – After a series in which the Detroit Tigers were swept out to sea by the Seattle Mariners, a long time Tiger, Brandon Inge, was inexcusably released from the team. Then, to make matters worse Tigers outfielder, Delmon Young, was arrested and detained for being stupid at a New York City hotel Thursday night after the team got into New York. Young made Anti-Semitic comments and was arrested on a hate-crime harassment charge. Delmon Young, formerly of the Minnesota Twins, was acquired to help the Tigers make a run for the Central Division Title last year. I feel like Mr Young’s actions give the city of Detroit a black eye, just because you are a professional athlete doesn’t mean you’re above the law. Delmon Young, you are supposed to represent the Detroit Tigers and the city that you play for and what you did deserves for you to be cut from the team, especially on the night that Justin Verlander is going to pitch for you guys! Why in heaven’s name would you say such things?! The Tigers need you and you have the wherewithal to be a goon. Take a look at who you hurt because of your actions, you hurt your team and the city of Detroit. You are very lucky that I’m not the commissioner because I would ban you from baseball forever.
