Whether you love him or hate him, David Stern prepares to say good bye to the NBA commissioner position he took over in 1984, getting ready to prepare for his last finals as commissioner. Adam Silver will take over in Stern’s position. This was the final that the NBA wanted all along. They wanted Tim Duncan vs LeBron James. When you look at David Stern’s leadership, the NBA has grown into one of America’s well known leagues. My thoughts about David Stern are as follows. Although I might not agree with him, he has made the game of basketball better. Even though I didn’t agree with some of his rulings as commissioner, there was always a silver lining to David leaving. Adam Silver has been David’s deputy, so it will be interesting to see what Adam does to try and fill David’s shoes.
