On Saturday night, at the Ralph Engelstad Arena, the East Region showed why they are the more dominant region for hockey in ND high schools.  Yet again, the East skated away with what looked to be a West title with the powerful Demons in  the way.  The Demons had to settle for three places short of their ultimate goal, a state title.  Every year the East Region seems to have better skaters and better talent.  It’s the same old song and dance for the West.  You make it to the big show, but you cannot show us what you’re made of.   The East had free reign of the ND high school landscape, when it came to hockey. The East region has a lot of powerhouses.  That’s why they are the mighty Red River Valley.

Will we see the same story on the hard wood?  I don’t think so.  Especially not when you have teams in the West coached by Greg Amundson, Steve Miller, and Steve Myer.
