Chicago, US Cellular Field – The White Sox came off a road trip in which they got swept three games in a row by the Minnesota Twins.  Thursday night, they were facing the best team in the American League, led by Derek Jeeter, Jorge Posada, and Nick Swisher, the New York Yankees.  On the mound for the Yankees was Andy Petit.  The Yankees came from Tampa Bay where they had just taken two out of three ball games from the Rays.  Meanwhile, the White Sox entered last night’s game with a record of 51 wins, 51 losses, after being swept by the Minnesota Twins.  Mark Buehrle had just come off of a no-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays and Duane Wise helped him earn a no-hitter with a catch against the wall.  Enter in the Bronx Bombers who wouldn’t go quietly as the “Swisher-ooh” stepped up to the plate with the Yankees down to there final strike.  He lifted a ball high and deep into the Chicago night and as John Sterling would say “It is high … it is far … it is gone!”
