Bismarck, ND. Even though the Bobcats currently find themselves seven points away from a playoff position, my hope still springs eternal. I’m not just saying that because I work inside the friendly confines of VFW All Seasons Arena, or because I have personal relations with my leaders Layne and Garrett. I believe in my players, and I know they can do it. It’s still possible for the Bobcats to make the playoffs. We just have to pull it together, and it all starts with the young man from Eagle River Wisconsin who wears the C, Captain Zach Kennedy. He knows what championship hockey should look like, because the Bobcats got him from the Austin Bruins. And they also brought in Will Ulrich, who can be like another Hunter Shepherd. The point to this story is, never give up on Layne and Garrett. Even though the Bobcats are currently in the basement, they still know what they are doing, and I still think Layne is a good head coach and general manager, and a great leader. Thom wouldn’t have signed him to another contract if he wasn’t a good leader. I get unprecedented access inside the Bobcat locker room when I do the Sheriff’s Patrol for you guys, so I’m not just blowing smoke out of my mouth. I see what goes on behind the scenes. Layne might be a little rough on the outside with the players, but that’s because he is trying to get them to play like champions.
