Detroit, Michigan – After eight strong innings last night from Doug Fister, the Tigers starting pitcher Max Scherzer followed last nights pitching effort up with another dominating start. Scherzer went seven strong innings where the only Angel run was a homerun from Mike Trout. The Tigers offense ensured that they would show who the king’s of the jungle were on this day. When #13, the University of Alabama product Alex Avila, took a bite out of the Angels starting pitcher early in the game, he took it from a 1-0 score to a 3-0 Tigers lead. From that point on, the Detroit Tigers were never caught up to by the Angels with the final score ending at 5-1. The next victims that the Tigers will eat alive will be the first place Chicago White Sox. The series will begin on Friday, July 20th and go through Sunday, July 22nd. Pitching for the Tigers tomorrow will be Justin “Purrlander”.
