Bismarck, North Dakota. With the game a little over three hours away, I was able to catch up with Assistant Coach Garrett Roth. Roth is entering his second year behind the bench with Layne Sedevie as the head coach for your Bobcats. As far as the fifth banner goes, Coach Roth said that he and Layne will take a moment to reflect on their accomplishments from the 2012-13 season. I then went on to talk about this year’s team, and this is what Roth had to say. “This year, we all have one common goal, which is to be the last team standing in May.” I asked Roth what he would say to the veterans about tonight, and Roth stated “don’t fall when you exit the limo!” Roth also went on to say that “we have a good group of young rookies that we feel can be a good mix with the veterans.” When it comes to coach Bliss, Roth says “they know what kind of team they will bring into our barn, we just need to focus. For the rookies, I think that it will be all about being simple, and accountable in the defensive zone.” Before tonight’s puck drop, there will be a ceremony for last year’s veterans who are still present from the team that won the Division title for the fifth time. The ceremony will start at 6:30pm.
