Washington, D.C. – This was a Game 7 that was supposed to live up to the billing of Alex Ovechkin vs. Sidney Crosby, but it would be #87 Crosby getting the last laugh.  Simeon Varlamov, the Capitals young net-minder, couldn’t take the pressure of a Game 7 as the Penguins swarmed him for 5 goals. Early in the game, the Cap’s sniper Ovechkin had a breakaway, but was stoned by Marc-Andre Fleury.   Washington Head Coach Bruce Boudreau should’ve called a time-out when it was still in reach, but his failure to do so allowed the Penguins to gain even more speed and run away with the game.  When he did finally call a time-out, the score was 5-0.  Why would you not call a time-out with the score only 2-0 early to get your team back on track?  That is very shoddy coaching in my opinion.  It was Game 7 and Boudreau did not look like a head coach, he looked like something you would see at a PeeWee game.  Final Score: Penguins – 6, Washington – 2.
