A year after kings were crowned, they were unable to defend their crown due to a Chicago team that came out of their gates hot. Even though Jonathan is a native of Winnipeg, Canada the 25 year old captain of the Chicago Blackhawks might as well be considered a native of ND. Why, because of the fact that he used to play college hockey at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. It takes a very special unit to be consistent, and this year it happens to be the team that wears the Indian head. The former UND star has a lot of grit. They don’t make them like Jonathan, anymore. He embraces everything that the “C” on his uniform stands for. When it comes time for Jonathan to retire they should have his jersey hanging in the rafters at UND in the Ralph Engelstad arena. The Blackhawks came out of the gates 22-0-3 which means they had no losses for awhile. Just imagine if they would of had a full season. It will be very interesting with out the Redwings in the western conference next year since they have moved over to the eastern conference.
