After being held winless Jimmie, Chad, and the rest of team 48 finally had things go their way on Sunday night. They finally earned a spot in the Chase. Jimmie will now join Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Carl Edwards, Brad Keslowski, Denny Hamlin, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, and Joey Logano. With Jimmie’s win, he became the winningest driver at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which is formerly known as the Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Tony will have to earn his way to defend his win from last year at Dover. I say that because NASCAR has new rules this year. You can no longer qualify the old way one car at a time, and you now also have to go through three rounds of knock out qualifying. That is where only the top 12 will compete for the pole. I hope for TS’s (Tony Stewart’s) sake he can turn it around at Dover. If not, you can look for Brad, Jimmie, or Matt to win. You know that after last year, team 48 is going to want to sit on the pole, and leave little doubt to anyone who will be chasing him this Sunday afternoon. It was Jimmie who jumped the restart that allowed Tony Stewart to come out with the win last year in June. So I think we can expect number 48 to be on the war path this Saturday when they qualify.
