After having to wait five hours, JGR takes off on the right foot. Well it is only one race, but the Wisconsin native Matt Kenseth looks like your champion in 2013. Kyle Busch, who is Kenseth’s teammate, finished 2nd to Matt. Meanwhile, questions about Hendrick motor sports have to be answered. Even though Jimmie finished 5th, you still have to ask yourself, where is the real 48 team? Because Johnson’s crew chief had to calm everybody down after some lug nuts were not on according to NASCAR. Chad Knaus, who is Jimmie’s crew chief, was furious with a NASCAR official, because that could have cost Jimmie the race. Later on in the race, the 48 team also had a broken jack. To fight all that and still come home in 5th and be in 3rd place in the Chase is still remarkable, considering how strong Kyle and Matt were. Up next for NASCAR is Loudon, New Hampshire. I don’t think that anyone else has an answer for Matt or Kyle. Hendrick must show me something by the time that second race is over, or else it might be all over for Hendrick even though it’s still early in the Chase. This has to be a must win for either Gordon, Johnson, or Junior, or they can Kiss their championship goodbye.
