After winning six championships with Michael Jordan, North Dakota’s native son Phil Jackson finally passed Red Auerbach (9 championships as a coach) with his 10th on Sunday night. The Lakers made sure there was no magic on this night, as Kobe Bryant put the Magic’s dream season on ice. Jackson was seen wearing a yellow hat, with the Roman numeral “X” on it, that his family had made for him. This was Kobe’s 4th championship. He was also honored with the Bill Russell Finals Award, which symbolizes the Most Valuable Player of the Finals. This was clearly Kobe’s team. Gone are the days of Shaquille O’Neal, who went to Phoenix. This was a bitter end for the Eastern Conference Champions, who had defeated Cleveland and Boston to get to there 1st NBA Final. This championship gave the Lakers their 15th title (they need 2 more to tie Boston). Final Score: Lakers 99, Magic 86.
