Indianapolis – Larry Bird has not delivered Pacers Nation a championship in his 10 years as president.  The 2004 team had as good a shot as any other Pacers team to win a title, that is until their boxing match at the palace.  That one game has left one organization with a black eye.  Ever since that day, the Pacers haven’t been the same.  Larry Bird is trying to stuff the Pacers Christmas tree with someone who he thinks could be the next Reggie Miller.  Someone should tell the hick from French Lick that the Pacers Nation is tired of languishing in mediocrity.  We want a team that is represented with class, not a bunch of players brandishing guns.  Pacers Nation is not that way.  Pacers Nation is about honesty, integrity, and hard work.  Larry Bird of all people should know that.  He’s supposed to be from middle America, where they do things the right way.  Pacers players should not be in jail and in front of a judge.  Is Larry Bird the right president for this franchise?  I’m starting to wonder.  It reflects on the front office who you pick to wear the Pacers uniform.

Gone are the days when we used to have a 6′ 7″ guard who would save our bacon in the playoffs, and who would thrill Pacers fans.  Now, we are left with one of the lowest class teams in the NBA.  Ah yes, the good ol’ days when Reggie would show what being a Pacer was all about.  I had an opportunity to meet Reggie Miller, and he showed me class and dignity.  It was during a timeout that my mom held up a sign to try to get Reggie to look my way.  After the game against the Timberwolves, we saw what Pacers class was all about.  I remember this giant body moving towards me, and I remember grabbing his warm- up and and wanting to hold on to Reggie for awhile.  I had a strong grip on Mr. Pacer.  Reggie gave me his wrist bands.  That’s what I envision Pacer class being all about, not these overpaid babies brandishing guns and getting in trouble.
