The Minnesota Twins need a lot of work in the pitching department. I don’t care if it is one of the hardest series having to face a talented Indians pitching staff. As a result, the Minnesota Twins find themselves in a tie for first place in the Central Division of the American League. This all started with Kyle Gibson on Thursday night when he committed a cardinal sin in baseball by making a throwing error. Meanwhile, Mike Clevinger was nearly flawless as he looked to be right on Target. Clevinger got the win on Thursday night while Gibson was saddled with a loss. Fast forward to Sunday when the Twins had there ace on the mound Jose Berrios. Meanwhile the Indians countered with Aaron Civale who pitched an outstanding game and was rewarded for his hard work on Sunday afternoon with early run support. However, Minnesota would cut Cleveland’s 2 run lead down to 1, but the Indians offense would answer Minnesota’s challenge and go ahead 3-1. Before the Twins knew what was coming a 4 run burst was started by Carlos Santana . His grand slam would be the nail in the Twins dreams of splitting the series with the Indians who now go back to Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland where they will face last years World Series champs the Boston Red Sox. As for the Twins, they get a much needed day off before taking on their rivals to the north the Milwaukee Brewers in a 2 game series.
