Detroit, MI. Good things come in small deals. Torii Hunter only has a two year deal with the Tigers, but last night he got the biggest hit of the game. The Tigers were down one nothing, and it certainly looked like another unhappy night in their jungle. Torii Hunter is a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The Tigers acquired him from the L.A. Angels in the off season. Now here is a interesting fact about Torii, his son is going to play football with the Irish in the fall. I think that Torii is one of the special players in baseball, because I think he gives a good effort every day and he doesn’t quit. Every day, Torii is always ready to play. Last night was extremely special in more ways than one. How many people can hit a three run triple, and give the Team a boost like Torii did? Before Torii went on the hunt, the Tigers were inexcusably behind one nothing to the hapless Minnesota Twins. It looked like the story was going to be about Anibal Sanchez and Kevin Correia through the first five innings, and it looked like it was going to a pitching battle. The Minnesota Twins got to Anibal first. The Tigers response all happened because of a play by Don Kelly. Kelly made a beautiful bunt. If it wasn’t for Kelly, who knows if the Tigers would have been able to respond. Now the because of Kelly’s beautiful bunt the Tigers and the Minnesota Twins are now tied at one. They have a chance win the series this afternoon beginning at 1:08 pm Eastern time, before they tackle the Mets starting tomorrow and into the weekend. For those of you who don’t have Sirus XM radio, you can tune your radio into ESPN 710 AM to listen to the Twins Cory Provus and Dan Gladden.
