This was supposed to be a celebration for Brazil. After all, they were the host nation. They were supposed to put on a clinic, but they ran into a firestorm of Germany. Before they knew what hit them, they were down 5-0, and it would be 7-0 before they would even get on the scoreboard. Some people were seen crying in Brazil – that’s how serious they take their football. Brazil has nobody to blame but themselves.

On this day, the soccer game would belong to Germany. Group F was supposed to be “Group of Death.” I think now, ladies and gentleman, it was the Group of Living. If it wasn’t for Tim Howard’s heroic performance, we wouldn’t even remember the USA.

The Brazilians must focus on trying to be a number three in the world. Meanwhile, the Germans have something bigger to play for: the right to win the trophy. At the beginning of the tournament, everyone had an equal opportunity to go after it, even the winner of Group A.
