Spain and Netherlands will face each other this Sunday on the pitch. This match-up will determine the winner of the 2010 World Cup. Neither country has won a World Cup. Here are some of my memories from the 2010 tournament.
First, five time and defending World Champion Brazil was denied a sixth title. My number two memory was how the USA fought and fought but in the end Ghana was the better team. My third memory was how the refereeing was being scrutinized by many of the participants, fans, and media and how the refs let them play with few penalty cards. Fourth is Uruguay and how they gave Ghana a run for their money. The game came down to penalty kicks! So as the World Cup closes what will be the lasting memory? Will the Spanish fans be saying, “Gracias”, to their team for the Cup or will the Netherlands surprise their fans with their first World Cup?
