Arlington, Texas – A day after Justin Verlander’s outstanding performance against the Pirates, Rick Porcello had a super performance in the scorching heat in Texas. It was 100 degrees at game time and it was the Rangers who couldn’t take the heat. Porcello and the Tigers had a 5-0 lead before Rick even set foot on the mound. A big reason why the Tigers were successful on Monday night was that they were patient at the plate and it added to their lead, with the final score being 8-2. Mr Price always talks about the art of pitching and Rick Porcello was an artist last night. Miguel Cabrera led the Tigers by showing his teammates how to be patient. Tonight, the Tigers hope to have a lot to smile about when Drew Smyly takes the mound. For updates on Game 2, stay tuned.
