Loudon, NH. Going in to Loudon, we had our eye on Jeff Gordon and somebody who we haven’t heard from all year long, the number 2 Miller Lite team led by Paul Wolfe. But the story of the day was about a team and a car that is sponsored by Aaron’s. This wasn’t a dream you have at night. For Brian Vickers, today was about making dreams come true. It was about a crew chief named Rodney Childress, who had seen three different gentlemen pilot his double nickel machine. I thought it was very cool to see MWR get the win in Loudon, and have the Aaron’s Dream machine in a place where you rarely see it. In Loudon, no one would have thought I would be writing about MWR. They have revolving doors a lot. Sometimes there is a native of Batesville, Arkansas in the car, but today was about a young man who has overcome a lot of adversity, just like yours truly. Brian Vickers had to take some time off due to health problems in early 2010. It did not look like he would race ever again. This is a refreshing story to write. At least we can go in to the off week without hearing about five-time, but he will be a story to be reckoned with as the Chase draws closer. Some other headlines going in to the off week and then coming in to the week of the Yard of Jeremiah. Ryan Newman apparently is out at Stewart Haas. Where will we see the South Bend native land during the off season? I guess Hoosier blood doesn’t matter to Tony. This is a surprising story that Ryan will no longer be Tony’s teammate. When you think of Indiana, you think of Ryan and Tony. But I guess Kevin Harvick talks louder than Ryan Newman, because Kevin Harvick is bringing Budweiser into the Coca Cola racing family. It doesn’t make any sense to me why Tony would do this to Ryan. If anybody should be out at Stewart Haas, it should be DP, and hopefully, the driver of the 39 car makes the Chase. This draws this reporter’s ire. However, I am going to continue to follow Stewart Haas racing, because Tony is from where I’m from, Indiana. I’m just very saddened that Ryan is out of a job with Tony. That is neither here nor there. We are going to have lots of time to mull over where Ryan will go.
