With Mandan’s loss on Friday afternoon, one thing was for certain, we would have new queens of basketball.  Gone are the days of Greg Amundson’s domination.  Enter in a new coach and a new team on top of the girls basketball world.  In her first year, we would see Andrea Ronderos, a young lady from Washburn High School and a former Marauders Assistant, be crowned.  We would see Queen Sarah Feeney be crowned.  We would also see the team that was so dominate against Mandan take second.  The Demons earned it all year long.  The players, along with Coach Ronderos, put more blood, sweat, and tears into it than Mandan High.  That’s why they earned the right to assume the thrown, and why Coach Amundson and his girls got their first taste of defeat in six years.  Here is how the Demon girls dominated the Lady Bruins from Fargo South: The Demons shot extremely well from downtown with a 53.3%, compared to the Bruins’ 31.2%.  However, Craig Flaagan’s Bruins girls did outwork the Demons at the free throw line with a 84.6% to the Demons’ 50%.  The tournament MVP, in JeremiahBoyce.com’s opinion is Sarah Feeney, who scored 22 points in the Demons’ crowning.  Final Score: Demons 70, Bruins, 62.
