Yesterday was the 50th running of the Daytona 500 in Florida. Ryan Newman, a native of Southbend, Indiana, won the superbowl of NASCAR. Indiana, a state that is famous for its basketball, is now famous for having a native son that is a Daytona 500 winner. For Ryan, yesterday was the ultimate dream. This year’s Daytona 500 was not dominated by mister Rick Hendrick. Instead, it was dominated by Penske South Racing. This was the 1st Daytona 500 win for Penske South Racing. Penske South finished 1st and 2nd. Ryan Newman and Curt Busch worked together to get Ryan the ultimate dream. Does this mean the end of domination for Rick Hendrick and his drivers? I don’t think so. They will be back. The next opportunity for Rick Hendrick and his drivers to reclaim the dominance will come at California. You can hear the race on 103.3 FM on Sunday, from California, to see if the Hendrick cars can take their domination back. The only Hendrick car in the top 10 was #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr.. He finished 8th at Daytona.
