Knaus and Johnson Get Away with NASCAR Murder

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)

Charlotte, NC. For reasons that I will never understand, Chad Knaus knows what he did at Daytona was wrong, but still I guess when you’re a member of the five time champion team, you can do whatever you want and get away with it. The incident I am referring to is when Knaus got away with unapproved seat posts. He should have been suspended for six weeks. But the NASCAR gods smiled down on Chad Knaus yet again. One of these times, he will get caught and be punished severely. Mr. Knaus should be, in my opinion, banned from the sport forever, and Mr. Hendrick should be ashamed of himself. When you try and outrun the law, you usually get put into jail. Mr. H, you know the rules and for one of NASCAR’s most famous owners to fight the law is really irrepressible. If I was the president of NASCAR, I would make the rules very clear from the start, and if you break the law, you would be forced to serve your penalty, even if you were a five time champion.

Busch, Johnson Still Fuming at Each Other

Charlotte, North Carolina. With the engines off, I thought it would be appropriate to give you my view of what is going in between a five time defending champion and one of NASCAR’s biggest pain in the rear ends. Last week mat Pocono, I thought we were going to have a boxing match between Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson. When you have a number in front of your name, such as 5, people view you differently. With the number 48 eyeing an unprecedented sixth straight title, the driver in the garage view him as the New York Yankees of racing. Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus, whether you love them or loathe them, are just two titles away from breaking the late Dale Earnhardt’s record of seven. Johnson seems to be getting better with age. They often say that Father Time catches up with you the older you get. The only thing that might break up Johnson and Knaus is if Chad decides to take on a new challenge. What we have here, ladies and gentlemen is the greatest athlete outside of the Petty era, and if Kurt Busch has a problem with it he will just have to work harder to beat the Michael Jordan of NASCAR.

University of North Dakota Shuts Up NCAA

St. Paul, Minnesota. Most of you know that I have a very strong opinion about what is going on with the Fighting Sioux nickname, and what the NCAA is trying to pull. So, I thought this weekend’s result of the WCHA hockey tournament in the home of the Wild was a fitting story for a program that could have been devastated by the controversy that is surrounding it. But instead, it’s not about a logo, it was about a state, and a group of young men who have the heart of champions. By first sending the Huskies back to their doghouse on Thursday, and making the Gophers hibernate in their holes with a come from behind explosion and a 6-3 win on Friday. Then on Saturday, they Pioneered a shutout of Denver to send a message to Indianapolis. You can put us in a controversy, but we will rise above it and persevere, and laugh in your face. A nickname is just a name of a team, and it should be for the people of North Dakota to decide what happens to it, not some low down NCAA pansy in Indianapolis. There is more to be written to this storybook ending. UND might as well be spelled CHAMP in my book. I know they must earn it on the ice, but no matter what happens, the UND athletic program can hold itself in high esteem.

Keselowski Has It His Way at Bristol

Bristol, Tennessee. Just like Burger King, Brad Keselowski had it his way on Sunday at Bristol by staying out of trouble most of the day and holding off Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth for the win in the Food City 500. The 28 year old from Rochester Hills, Michigan gave one of NASCAR’s most legendary names the victory by winning at NASCAR’s coliseum for Penske Racing. Tony Stewart is 7th in the points, and is tied with Kesekowski for number of wins with one apiece. HMS teammates had disagreements on the track. Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon were racing side by side and they both had damage to their cars after an accident that put Gordon out of contention for the win. As a result of the scrimmage, one of NASCAR’s most popular drivers remains winless. Mr. H is still stuck on win number 199, and is still looking for 200. The series moves on to California which is the home track of Jeff Gordon and five time champion Jimmie Johnson and begins at 2pm on Sunday.

Sadler Unsaddles Rest of Field

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)
Sunday, March 18th, 2012

Bristol, Tennessee. Elliott Sadler, a driver from Vrginia, is getting a rebirth of his career on the Nationwide side. He is also your Nationwide points leader after putting a bridle on the field at the Ford Eco Boost 300. Danica Patrick continues to have growing pains, finishing 23rd yesterday. It is unknown if the Bayne of NASCAR will be California dreaming or not, due to lack of funds on the Nationwide side for the cat in the hat.
