Super Bowl Good for Indy Even Though No Colts

Indianapolis, Indiana. With the Luke hosting the NFL’s premier event this year, it’s good for the Indy economy. Certainly, I would have liked to see Saturday and Addai and Manning in there, but it wasn’t meant to be. Instead, we are halfway to Jeremiah’s second choice. We already have Brady in there, now we hope that the younger Manning can go on his big brother’s field, and hoist the Lombardi Trophy. Without Manning number 1, the NFL has been boring all year long. In tonight’s game, I expect Eli to knock down another classless coach and be on the way to Peyton’s place, where he will party like never before. Start spreading the news, hey, Tom, you will be put in the oven in a few weeks, because you belong in Eli’s and Osi’s stomach, because you are a turkey. You thought you could get rid of the first family of football, I don’t think so.

Sedevie Honored By Media

Bismarck, ND. Usually, the media try to stay out of Coach of the Year voting, but this year, with owner Thom Brigl making the best choice he ever has made by hiring Bismarck native Layne Sedevie, and with the Bobcats playing so well on the ice, the on-ice effort has led to Layne being rewarded. We are proud to present a fine young man with the highest honor a coach could ever receive from a media standpoint. With the North American Hockey League probably not going to honor the Bobcats coach with their Coach of the Year, I felt it was my duty to honor an outstanding coach for bringing some of the Billings Bulls magic to Bismarck. Congratulations, coach Sedevie on being the jeremiahboyce.com Coach of the Year for 2012.

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

Daytona Beach, Florida. The 40 year old better known as His Smokiness, owner driver Tony Stewart, embarks on his quest to remain on top of NASCAR’s kingdom. After waging one of the most scintillating battles of the 2000′s or even since Parsons, Yarborough, and Petty, a new season dawns without His Grubbiness as crew chief for the number 14 Mobil One Chevy. Can Smoke defend his title from 2011? The answer is we don’t know yet. If anyone can, Tony can. And then there’s His Vainness, Trevor Bayne. He is the youngest Daytona 500 winner, but there are 42 other drivers who would like to come out with the Harley Earl trophy. We now take a look at the former champion, Jimmie Johnson. Jimmie finished sixth in the points last year, which was the lowest finish of his career in the Chase. Another story to follow is Miss Danica, as she makes her NASCAR debut. Danica, a native of Roscoe, Illinois, comes to America’s favorite sport from the IRL. Patrick leaves Andretti Green to run a full time Nationwide schedule for Stewart Haas. I think Danica will give a predominantly male sport a new flavor. She will win a few and she will have a few bumps in the road.

Bobcats Continue to Heat Up NAHL

Bismarck, North Dakota. The growl is not subsiding. Instead, the growl is getting louder and louder, as the Bobcats continue their relentless attack toward another national title. On Friday night, the team that leads the pack in the Central punched its ticket to the post season. There are so many accolades that this reporter could bestow on this team, but the one accolade that I think the league would be dumb not to give is coach of the year to the head coach and General Manager, Layne Sedevie. Sedevie, a native of Bismarck, has guided the Cats to a 30-5 record. The body of work speaks for itself. I know Sedevie has been rough on referees, but that’s because the former Bull is passionate about the game he loves, and the team he coaches. If the league doesn’t give Sedevie his rightful award, I will make an award and present it to him on behalf of this website on my own.

Colts in Trouble

Indianapolis, Indiana. After winning Super Bowl 41 in 2006, the Colts inexcusably said goodbye to the architect of that Super Bowl run. General Manager Bill Polian was let go after a 2-13 season. The last time I checked, Mr. Polian did not wear a Colts uniform. The once proud franchise now finds itself in shambles. The one thing that I don’t understand is why in the world you would want Andrew Luck, when he is an unproven quarterback. He has never been through an NFL war, and has never hoisted a Vince Lombardi trophy. The Colts are in an unthinkable predicament. On one hand, you have a 35 year old veteran, who is the face of the franchise and who has been through the wars and knows what it takes to get your team on the top of the NFL. Case in point 29-17 over the Bears in Super Bowl 41. On the other hand, you have a quarterback who hasn’t even been under Jeff Saturday and taken the ferocious hits that come with the territory of being a starting quarterback in the NFL. Irsay would be wise not to take Andrew Luck. Instead, he would be wise to help the defense get a much-needed safety to replace Bob Sanders, who went to San Diego inexcusably. Adam Vinateri and the kicking game is fine, leave it alone. Don’t touch any other positions. If anything, I would grab a veteran QB out of free agency. I will be watching every move that this franchise makes, and if they grab Andrew Luck, the Colts will be put under fire by their biggest critic.
