Horses Must Stop Horsing Around

Indianapolis, Indiana. With the Super Bowl in Indianapolis in January it’s time for the real leaders on the Colts to stop lifting their tails and start playing the football that has earned them the right to be on national television. No Manning, no excuses, guys. Come out of your stalls and show the rest of the NFL that you’re not a bunch of pansy ponies. Kerry Collins, we have you for a reason. Be a veteran like you’re supposed to be. It’s time for you to quit your pansy play behind Saturday, and get rid of the deer in the headlights look like you’re a grandpa who wants to be sitting at home on a rocker instead of in the NFL. And another thing, Joseph, where have you been? It’s time for you to take off your amazing colored dream coat and put your head down and start punching people in the mouth when you run. I will be very critical if you guys look like college kids on national TV.

Cats Sweep Weekend

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

Bismarck, North Dakota. After two steps backward and forward in the Blaine, Minnesota showcase, the Cats were back in a familiar place. What we saw on Friday and Saturday looked like their former America West counterparts, the Billings Bulls. Keep in mind that the man behind the bench of the Bobcats used to wear horns himself. First, it was time to barbecue some Wings. There were three things that caught my eye; the play of Shasta, Minnesota native number 31, Tommy Burke, newcomer number 20 Shane Omdahl, and number 4, John Furgele. Furgele, who appears small off ice, apparently knows how to take the body on the ice. Last night, it was time to welcome a villain back to the VFW Sports Center. He used to wear number 22 for the Bobcats, Jeff Crouse. This was a rematch of a series that ended Crouse’s dream of taking away the Bobcats’ kingdom in the Central Division. We also saw two of the dirtiest teams in the league over the weekend, and the Bobcats were able to rise above all of the chippy play and come up with a 4-2 record, burning the Wings 3-1 and giving the Alexandria Blizzaed a shot in the mouth and to the heart with a final score, Bismarck 9, not so fierce Alexandria Blizzard 3.

Back Home Again in New Hampshire

Loudon, New Hampshire. After a surprising burst through the door that sent shock waves through the NASCAR world in Chicago, with everybody expecting his majesty do so well, Chicago gave us a glimpse that his majesty is not so tough after all. The Columbus, Indiana native has sent warnings: where there is Smoke, there is Tony. One year ago at Loudon, Smoke was leading, only to have his dream broken by not having enough gas in the car. But on this late September Sunday, Stewart had the drive and the heart to make Indiana proud. There are still nine races to go to the ultimate dethroning of Johnson, but each race that Tony wins, the throne gets a little more wobbly. The series now moves on to Dover, Delaware, where his Smokiness looks to set the NASCAR world into a flaming bath of Mobil 1 motor oil.

Bobcats at a Crossroads

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)
Sunday, September 18th, 2011

Bismarck, North Dakota. Ladies and gentlemen, after looking so promising to begin the season, with two straight wins, the Bobcats took two embarrassing steps backward, and now find themselves even at 2-2. Yes, Bobcat Nation, I know it’s early in the season, but the black and gold are shooting themselves in the foot with inability to clear the puck out of the zone. You do that in the Central Division, and you are going to find yourselves staring last place right in the face. There are too many talent laden-rosters in the division to get away with some of the inexcusable mistakes we were hearing in Blaine, Minnesota. In this league, you’ve got to have talent, and be smart with the puck, and finally keep your buns out of the penalty box. The Bobcats failed to do that in their two losses, which is why they are where thet are right now. Up next for the Cats is a pair of match ups that will tell us a lot about the Central Division in 2011-12. First, former Bobcat and current Aberdeen Wings assistant coach Garret Roth comes calling on Friday night. And then Saturday, the villain comes back, former Bobcat Jeff Crouse and the Alexandria Snow Flurries. This season will be filled with drama and passion, and on this website, there will be no favoritism. If I see kids making plays they should not be making, they will be called on the carpet. You will find out if the Bobcats will be contenders or pretenders early in the season.

NASCAR’s Post Season to Begin

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)

Joliet, Illinois. There are several interesting stories that jeremiahboyce.com will cover for you during the running of the Geico 400, not the least of which is the possible run at a sixth straight title for JJ and team 48. Among the other stories that we will cover for you is the resurgence of Dale Earnhardt Junior. Jimmie’s reasons why he could have trouble defending his kingdom are Smoke and 43 other drivers who are tired of the same old song and dance, including Jeff Gordon. Last year, during Jimmie’s run to a fifth straight title, Gordon said, “that 48 is really testing my patience.” Example number two, the Advocare 500 in Atlanta earlier this year, where Jimmie and Jeff battled to the end, and the elder statesman of the Hendrick stable beat the five-time champion. Plus the Rocket Man, the driver of the number 39 US Army Chevrolet for Stewart Haas Racing, South Bend Indiana native Ryan Newman. All these stories make for a perfect storm, otherwise known as Hurricane Chase for the NEXTEL Cup, and in the middle of the storm, one man, one team, one company, the driver of the Lowes Chevrolet, Mr. Five Time Jimmie Johnson.
