With the recent 73-point outburst against Indiana and then 70 on Saturday against Northwestern, everything looks Rosy in Madison. It’s all up to the polls if Wisconsin smells roses or not. There are three teams that have a shot at coming up rosy, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and The Ohio State.

Colts Look to Strike Down Lightning Bolts

Indianapolis, Indiana. With Peyton Manning’s weekend struggles against San Diego well documented, it’s time to look ahead at tonight’s game in Lucas Oil Stadium. When the lights are at their brightest, Manning always seems to come up with an Elway-like performance. I expect number 18 to come out firing and hitting on all cylinders. Dwight Freeney will have fun running through a river named Philip. The key for the Colts is making Rivers feel number 93 all night long and making him eat grass. The Colts offensive line needs to protect one of the greatest quarterbacks in the league. With Dallas Clark out for the season, I would look for the Colts to spread the ball around and confuse the Lightning Bolts on defense.

Williams Shines and Blizzards Bury Bobcats

Alexandria, Minnesota. After an exciting win last night, the Bismarck Bobcats looked like they had no energy against their former teammate, Jake Williams. Williams was part of the national championship team from last year, and he was traded to the Fresno Monsters who then traded him to the Alexandria Blizzard. With the 5-1 loss, Bismarck now has a record of 13-8-1. Let’s give credit to Jake Williams, as he played an outstanding game in net for Alexandria. Alexandria out played the Bobcats in every facet of the game. Alexandria was ready to go from the opening 20 minutes. The Bobcats were not ready to go. They left their emotions at the VFW Sport Center. The Bobcats were lifeless tonight but Alexandria came out and were ready to rumble. To make matters worse, one of the heros from last night’s game, Dan Zawacki, suffered a broken arm and will be out until further notice. The Bobcats must pick it up next weekend as they play Aberdeen on December 3rd.

Bobcats Burn Roth

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)
Friday, November 26th, 2010

Bismarck, ND. For the second straight time this season, including last year’s National Championship over Fairbanks, the Bismarck Bobcats have burned a former teammate turned adversary. Garrett Roth was a member of Mr. Johnson’s Bourne Cup team. Now, he’s an assistant coach with Aberdeen, and on Thanksgiving, the Bobcats looked to stuff him like a turkey. Early in the game, Dan Zawacki whacked the Wings, giving the Bobcats an early 1-0 lead. But pesky Garrett Roth and the Wings refused to die early in the game, tying the game at 1-1. That would be the first of three ties. Brett Bower would power a shot by Aberdeen goalie Frederick Leisner, and would prove to be wiser than Leisner. Enter in Matty Ice, Matt Gates, to signal the defeat of Roth and the roasting of the Wings. He opened the gates for a Bobcats win by coming up the ice on a three on two in overtime, blasting a shot by Leisner, and sending the VFW into a Thanksgiving delight. Final score Bismarck 4, Garrett 3. The Bobcats are now 13-7-1 and in first place in the Central.

Bobcats Shoot Down Express

Bismarck, North Dakota. After a 3-1 win on Friday night, the game between the Bismarck Bobcats and the Owatonna Express had all the makings of a war. The Express were the first to fire a bullet when Ryan Faragher would face white out conditions by Nick Widing. Nick Widing would find Ryan Faragher’s five hole putting the Express on the board at 10:47 in the second period. It wouldn’t remain that way for long, as the gates were opened on a goal by Matt Gates tying the game at 1-1. It would remain that way for the rest of period 2, period 3, and overtime. Nikolaj Rosenthal derailed the Express with the game winner, giving the national champions a record of 13,7,1. Meanwhile, Owatonna was swept for the second straight time by the Bismarck Bobcats. Here is a look at what’s ahead for the champs. A rematch on Thanksgiving against Aberdeen, and then a road trip to A-town, Alexandria, Minnesota.
