NASCAR’s Golden Boy is On Top Again

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)

Homestead, Florida: Jimmie Johnson became the first ever driver to win four championships in NASCAR’s sixty-one year history. The thing that makes this accomplishment so special is it reminds me of Michael Phelps when he won eight gold medals in China. Whether you love Jimmie or not, lets face it, the guy is NASCAR’s golden boy.

Every driver has a team of people that work on the car like an airplane crew. This year Jimmie and the crew did something that was unforgettable by winning four back to back championships. Only time will tell if they can get five in a row.

Everything is Easy in Big Easy

New Orleans, Louisiana: There are two undefeated teams in the NFL, Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints, which team will fall first? Only time will tell. The New Orleans quarterback, Drew Brees, has it easy. No one is talking about what is at stake for New Orleans; Everyone is talking about The Colts. I, personally, would like to see two undefeated teams break the 72 Dolphins record because Drew Brees and Peyton Manning are two likable guys. One of the reasons why they are so likable is because they persevere and both have the heart of champions. Only one quarterback will see the dream of being on top of the NFL.

Colts Remain Perfect

Indianapolis, Indiana: The Colts have a lot to be thankful for. Including a quarterback who has stayed healthy and a perfect 10-0 season. This team reminds me a lot of the 2006 team that won the Super Bowl. Whether or not, the Colts will remain perfect is yet to be seen. Every win gets the 2009 Colts closer to the 72 Miami Dolphins(they were the only team to go undefeated in NFL history.) The Colts next game is on Sunday against the Houston Texans at 1:00 p.m.

Jimmie Johnson Closes in on History

Jimmie Johnson could be rewriting history by becoming NASCAR’s first four-time champion. Jimmie has been the raining champion for the past three years. On the other side, there is Mark Martin who has finished second. Whatever happens on Sunday, this will be remembered as a season for the ages because there are two teammates who are battling to become NASCAR’s King. Martin is 50 years old and has never won a championship. Meanwhile, there is Jimmie Johnson who has been the dominate driver for the past three years and who is looking for a fourth Championship! Johnson could be compared to the New York Yankees because he’s always winning! I am looking forward to watching Sunday’s race.

The Game of the Century

With all the marbles on the line it was Peyton’s time to shine. Bill Belichick made the worst coaching mistake a coach could ever make by burning two back to back timeouts. Enter in number 18 to signal the end of the Patriots. It was a thing of beauty the way Peyton cut through the Patriots. Peyton showed the Patriots that they can’t win in Indy. The Colts improved their record to 9-0 this season. Indianapolis’ next game is on Sunday, November 22nd, at Baltimore at 1:00 p.m.
