(Ramon Santiago hit 2 of the 4 homers.)

Detroit – Somebody forgot to tell Jim Leeland’s Detroit Tigers that they were out of the playoffs as they hit 4 home runs and spoiled the Rays party, 7-5.  All Tampa Bay needs to clinch their first American League title is one more win.

TWINS SWEEEEEEEEP SOX!!!

By Jeremiah Boyce · Comments (0)
Friday, September 26th, 2008

Minneapolis – At the Homer Dome (Metrodome) last night, the Twins were faced with their biggest challenge yet.  They were trying to get rid of the “Wizard of Oz” and AJ Pierzynski.  The Twins were down 5-1 at one point, but showed more heart than Chicago as they rallied past the biggest goons in baseball and propelled themselves to a familiar position.  They relegated the White Sox to second in the AL Central, where they belong.  Alexi Casilla hit a pitch off Chicago’s reliever, Bobby Jenks, and put the “jenks” on the Sox in the tenth inning, setting off a wild celebration in Twins territory.  That put the White Sox in heartbreak hotel.  Final Score: Twins – 7, White Sox – 6.

Minneapolis:  With the Baseball season in the final days, the American League Central is yet to be decided.  Going into Tuesday nights action, the Twins sat two and a half games behind the Chicago White Sox, but the Minnesota Twins sent a resounding message to the White Sox that this would be a long fight to the death as they pounded the Sox with back to back home runs and a 9-3 whooping!  Tonight’s starting pitcher for the MN Twins will be Nicolas Blackbern.  It will be a fun series to cover! Good luck Minnesota!  We believe in YOU!

‘Cats Set to Christen New Den With a Pair Against Alexandria

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008
The 2008-09 Bismarck Bobcats will make their first appearances of the year in their brand-new den this Friday and Saturday. The opposing team will be the Bobcats Central Division foes, the Alexandria Blizzard. The last time the two met in the Bobcat den it was a sweep with a 6-2 and a 3-2 melting of the Blizzard.

News and Notes
The last game for the Bobcats was on the road, Saturday, at the Schwan’s Super Rink, where the Bobcats were defeated 5-1 at the hands of Mahoning Valley. The Bobcats’ assistant coach, Aaron Kinslow, stated that the team would release 1 or 2 players during this week in order to get down to 25, which is the league’s maximum. When asked if fans would see the current roster against Alexandria, Coach Kinslow stated, “you’ll see the team that’s going to be on the ice every night on Friday and Saturday.” The Bobcats are keeping 2 goalies (who will wear the uniforms), but are grooming 6’8” John McLean Jr. for next year, according to Kinslow. Also in this edition of “News and Notes” you will hear from a 3rd year Bobcat and Bismarck native, #2 Will Aide, on what he thinks of the team that the ‘Cats are going to go to war with this weekend. “Alexandria is an older club. They have a lot of veterans. I think about twelve or thirteen kids are ‘88s on their team. They’re pretty good. They know how games go and how things operate,” Aide stated. When asked what he looks forward to the most this season, Aide replied, “The end of the season. I think we can go all the way this year. We just need to play good and as a family.” Aide added that three-fourths of the Bobcat team is new this year.
