Country musician Tim McGraw could not even save the Predators by waving his towel on Sunday night in Nashville Tennessee for game six of the Stanley Cup Playoff Championship, not even a little “Faith” could save them either.

As for the game it was very intense the entire evening in a defensive battle as no one wanted to give up an inch of ice to their opponent. Nashville thought they had scored the first goal of the evening early in the second period, but the referees claimed they lost site of the puck, which I was not in agreement with as it looked like a clean goal to this reporter.

The game remained scoreless deep into the third period until Patric Hornqvist scored with 1:35 left in regulation giving the defending champions a 1-0 lead. Carl Hagelin added the final nail in the coffin for Nashville scoring an empty netter with 13.6 seconds remaining to give the Penguins a 2-0 lead.

The Penguins are the first team since the Detroit Red Wings in 1997-98 to win to back-to-back championships in the NHL.

There is no reason why that other NHL teams will not have to go through Pittsburgh again next year to get their chance at hoisting the Stanley Cup.
