Detroit MI. It’s time to pick up the pieces. Although the Tigers lost on baseball’s biggest stage, Detroit has plenty to keep its head high about. Instead of moping around feeling sad for themselves, the Tigers as a team have a lot they can be proud of, like the fact that Miguel Cabrera is the triple crown winner, and the fact that the Tigers were able to overcome a lot of challenges and win the Central Division and then go on to win the American League championship. This can only make the Tigers stronger. As far as Phil Coke, he had nothing to cry about. Everything that he did was totally awesome, and he should be the Tigers’ new reliever instead of Jose Valverde. If I were Jim Leyland, I would have taken a mental note of how well Phil did in his new role as the Tigers’ closer. I wouldn’t even worry about Jose Valverde for next year, I would say it’s Cokie’s job to lose. I wouldn’t even give Jose another chance, that’s why you have spring training. As far as the Tigers hitting, I’m not trying to make excuses. You have to be able to hit to be able to win. The fact that the Tigers did not hit in the World Series is totally inexcusable. The pitching was lights out, but the hitting was atrocious. Why in heaven’s name would you hit against Oakland and New York but not in the San Francisco series? I don’t care if you are tired, you are getting paid big money to hit. Why not hit in the World Series?
