Despite going winless in the Showcase, the Bismarck Bobcats players were pretty upbeat on Wednesday when they met the media for a weekly look inside Bobcats hockey. However, the coaches were not available, due to a players meeting they were having. We asked veteran Nick Wallace, from Sun Valley, California, if the defensive breakdown could have had anything to do with the fact that the Bobcats lost all four outings in their showcase appearances. When asked about why the Bobcats went 0-4 during their week at the Schwanns Super rink in Blaine, Wallace would not make any excuses. He said other defenses were doing what the Bobcats were supposed to be doing, and that the players’ legs are numb by the third game in four days. David Fessenden, who was observing for most of the Showcase while number 39 Hunter Shepard was getting most of the goaltending work for the Bobcats, noticed a few breakdowns which you cannot have in front of your goaltender. That might explain why the Bobcats have a current record of 2-4.
