Zach Van Sant and the rest of the Bismarck Bobcats are ready to attack the Minot Minotauros beginning on Friday night at the VFW Sports Center den in Bismarck, before action shifts to the Maysa Pepsi Arena in Minot on Saturday. The Cats return to the capital city Sunday night for their annual New Year’s Eve tilt with the Marty Murray coached Tauros.

These three upcoming games will be huge in the NAHL Central Division standings, as only four points separate the first place Aberdeen Wings and Austin Bruins (32 points) from the last place Minotauros with 28 points. The Bobcats currently are in a fourth place tie with the Brookings Blizzard with 30 points. It will be interesting to see which coach is smiling or frowning after this weekend in the Central Division.

Van Sant, a defenseman from Excelsior, Minnesota, and his teammates are really looking forward to battling their neighbors to the north this weekend. He mentioned that there is no love lost between the Tauros and the Cats.

In other news and notes, Captain Jared Resseguie has moved on to the Denver Pioneers of NCHC Division One college hockey. Head Coach and General Manager Layne Sedevie said other players need to step up to replace their former Captain. The Sheriff’s Patrol would like to wish Jared good luck in his new endeavor with the P’s and would like to thank him for his interview earlier this season.
