Johnson Penalized, But Finishes Second

October 27, 2008 by jeremiahboyce · Leave a Comment

Hampton, GA - The #99 Bob Osbourne crew and their driver (Carl Edwards) did a famous back flip; meanwhile, all eyes are on Jimmie Johnson as he closes in on Cale Yarborough’s three title record.  Johnson was given the pole after qualifying was yet again washed out (which meant that the field had to be set on driver points) and was also given the first pit stall.  Johnson would prove yet again that when things look bleak, never count out a Chad Knaus led crew.  After Johnson was given a penalty, it looked like the rest of the field would be able to challenge for the Chase for the Nextel Cup, but Jimmie Johnson showed why he is this era’s “King of NASCAR.”  Going into Hampton, Johnson had a 149 point lead over the “Biff.”  Johnson now extends to a 183 point lead over Greg Biffle.  From Hampton, now the series goes to Fort Worth.

Johnson Extends Points Lead

October 20, 2008 by jeremiahboyce · Leave a Comment

Martinsville, VA - As Jimmie’s quest for three titles continues to roll, we yet again found ourselves looking at a dominant 48 team.  As Johnson clearly continues to establish his dominance, we are looking at a heart of a champion.  The native of El Cajon, CA now has a huge point lead (149) in front of Greg Biffle.  The drivers have Georgia on their mind, where Johnson reigns as he won the Pep Boys Auto 500 last season.   It’s a busy on-track weekend and if you want flag-to-flag coverage turn to the only name that means anything in sports, JB SportsCorner.

‘Cats Always Sheriff’s Team

October 17, 2008 by jeremiahboyce · Leave a Comment

I could not envision living or working in another city with so many blessings.  I’ll get to why the ‘Cats  will always be my team, but first, let’s take a look at why the Sheriff is so blessed.  I’m only 27 and have my own website for millions of you to read everyday.  To be able to work with the best owner in the NAHL and to be able to help  promote young men, and get to know the inside and out of the Jr. A’s version of the Detroit Red Wings is a blessing.  To me, there is no other sports city in the world that compares to Bismarck.  I love you guys, and I always will.  I strive to be a champion writer.  Bismarck, you are the best city in the world.  I will always cherish my friends in the Sports Community.  To be able to write about the Bobcats, and the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, is a huge blessing.  There is no feeling like being a sports writer in Bismarck.

Bismarck Bobcats: Thom Brigl Interview

October 7, 2008 by jeremiahboyce · Leave a Comment

Center Ice had an opportunity to go behind the scenes of your Bismarck Bobcats when I sat down with chief officer/owner Thom Brigl. In this interview you will hear what it’s like to own Jr. A Hockey’s #1 franchise, your Bismarck Bobcats! Thom Brigl hails from Minneapolis, MN and has owned the Bobcats for 7 years. He is a 1979 graduate of Mandan High School and he is the best owner in the league. One of the themes for the 2008-2009 Bobcats is - It’s a Whole New Game. Thom is thrilled about the prospects of this year’s Bobcats on and off the ice. “It is a whole new game. We’ve got a new coach. We have a fairly high turnover in the team with a lot of skill from across the country. We have a brand new remodeled rink, and we have new staff, as far as Caryn, Elizabeth, and Skip,” he stated enthusiastically. The Bobcats are involved with a lot of charities and are very appreciative of the fans. “The future of the Bobcats really relies on the community and it’s support of the organization. We expect that it will grow, and it has over the years, but it’s really up to the community,” Brigl stated. Thom loves the Bobcats and hopes to see the team succeed and become champions again.
