When news breaks regarding the 52 year old head coach of the Colts, Tony Dungy, you will see it here. For all of your latest off-season Colts news, keep it right here. I’m very proud of what Tony has done for the NFL. If this was his last go around as a head coach, there is no reason to hang his head. 12-5 is not the SuperBowl, but he is still one of the greatest ambassadors the NFL has ever had. Weigh your options Tony, and we will cover whatever your decision is. Stay tuned. As always, when news breaks, you know where to turn, JeremiahBoyce.com.
Texas Topples Bucks

Glendale, AZ - In a game that was one for the ages, the 2009 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl wasn’t without drama. After a sloppily played first half, Colt McCoy and his Longhorns teammates began hooking the Bucks. The second half was an old-fashioned western shootout with both offenses clicking, but with McCoy gun-slinging the ball, he gave #3 Texas a 17-6 lead. With OSU going to a two quarterback system, Senior Todd Beckman and Freshman Terrelle Pryor, the Buckeyes began what looked to be a comeback that would give the Big 10 a win. On Texas’ last possession of the game, McCoy proved to shoot the last bullet out of his gun that would give his team a less then convincing 24-21 win.
Sheriff’s Note: That leaves the Utah Utes having gone undefeated at 13-0, but because of college footballs boneheaded BCS system we have to listen to more whining and crying about coaches’ polls and AP National Champions. College football should take a lesson from March Madness and have a field of teams compete for one championship. Just because Utah goes undefeated, you mean to tell me that the Utes aren’t better than Florida or Oklahoma? The BCS should examine itself, and once the season is over, crown one champion. Sure you’re going to get a AP Nation Champion and fraudulent BCS Champion, and whoever wins the trophy should ship it off to Salt Lake City. There is only one National Champion, and I think the Utah Utes got royally stepped on.

Ohio State vs. the Longhorns. This might not be Florida vs. Oklahoma, but it is a chance for Texas to prove to the bloated BCS why they should be #1.
The BCS is saturated with too many bowl games. They should go to a playoff system in college football, then they could have an outright national championship. None of this AP and coaches pole stuff. There isn’t two winners in the NFL is there? The last time the Sheriff checked there wasn’t a regular SuperBowl Champion and an AP Champion.
College football is all about the money; it’s not about love for the game. If Texas wins tonight, we are going to get a lot of talk about who should be the real national champion.
Should it be the Heisman winning Sam Bradford or the #1 team currently, Florida? Florida earned the right to play in Thursday night’s national championship by rolling out the previously undefeated Tide.
Check back Tuesday for JB’s exclusive coverage of the second national championship.

A Closer Look at Wild Card Weekend

It’s time to take a closer look at the first round of the NFL playoffs, better known as Wild Card Weekend.
The first match-up takes us to Arizona as we take a look at the NFC West champion, the Arizona Cardinals. Kurt Warner is the Cardinals QB, unlike when he was with St. Louis and had wide receivers like Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce. The Cardinals are not the greatest show on Earth. I don’t see the Cardinals going any further than the first round. It will be 1-and-none for these birds as they will get bounced out in the first round. Prediction: Atlanta - 24, Cardinals - 17.
In Saturday evening’s game, it’s the sizzling Indianapolis Colts at the 8-8 San Diego Chargers. The match-up has the Colts route all over it. No stopping these hot Colts. Prediction: San Diego - 6, Indianapolis - 34.
Moving on to Sunday’s match-up. Can Tavaris Jackson and the Vikings rise-up to a championship caliber, or will the Eagles soar into the next round? The Sheriff says the Vikings will get the job done. Prediction: Vikings - 24, Eagles - 20.
Quoth the Raven “nevermore,” as the Ravens sink the young fish. Prediction: Baltimore - 24, Miami - 17.
