Detroit, Michigan. After playing around in the mud, Brandon Inge came back to the Motor City looking like a brand-new car, with a tremendous roar on Saturday’s first at bat. He showed why he should be among the kings of the jungle by belting a home run into the Detroit early evening, and setting off the Tigers sound effects at Comerica Park. With the roaring going on in the background and the cheering pride behind him, Brandon returned to the third base jungle with a smile on his face. This wasn’t the only thing that the Tigers had for dinner. They had a big win 10-1 over the Indians with a three and a half game lead going into Sunday. Sunday, it was time to go for the kill, as the Tigers looked to widen their lead even further and break out the brooms. It was Rick Porcello’s turn to knock down the Tribe. Early in the game, the boys from the Motor City looked like a well-oiled and well-conditioned Corvette, zooming out to a 7-0 lead. But the team that is number two in the Central said, not so fast, my friend, making a game out of it before succumbing to Valverde time in the end. The Tigers earned their sweep, but it wasn’t without hard work. Next on the menu is a swim with the Rays for four, before JeremiahBoyce.com takes a seven and a half hour trip to go see who will be king of Target Field on Friday, August 26.
