Blaine, Minnesota. This is the way Bobcat hockey is supposed to be played: in your face, rough, and tough. Aaron Nelson and the rest of the boys remembered the Amarillo Bulls from last year, because it was the same Amarillo Bulls who derailed Layne and Garrett’s dream of bringing Jeremiah a Robertson cup. It was late night last night for this reporter, but it was well worth the wait to listen to Paul Teeple call a Bobcat win. It was a special moment, because we gave the champs a “KO”. I wish I could have been on the ice last night. Aaron Nelson and Fillip Starzynski are both awesome guys. When you are around the Bismarck Bobcats, you can see every ounce of blood, sweat, and tears that the coaching staff put into their team. All of this is coming from a writer who bleeds black and gold, because of nights like last night. I also think the win against the Bulls should go down in Bobcat history. Anytime you can hold the defending Robertson Cup champs to one goal is sweet! I think it is sweet, because of what they did to me, and the rest of the team. The Amarillo Bulls denied us the chance to bring the Robertson Cup back to where it belongs last year. When I see the team, I am going to give the guys who wear the “C” a high five, because it is very tough to deal with a team when you feel like you were wronged. This game also proved why Layne and Garrett get my coach of the year every year. Hopefully, Layne feels my support when he gets back from Blaine, and is able to use it as motivation to beat Bliss and the Wild. That one win can carry a team to a 3-1 record, hopefully. Coach Garrett is not able to get a 4-0 record due to the Eagle’s loss, but he can still get a 3-1 record. Even 2-2 is fine with me. I am just proud of the boys who wear the word Bobcat on their chest! The final score was Bobcats 3 and Amarillo 1.
