Blaine, Minnesota. One thing is for sure, this is not late February or early March. The Bobcats have so much to look forward to, including the raising of a fourth championship banner on Friday. What could have been a downer can only be considered a blessing, because this is how champions are made in the NAHL. One and three means nothing. Look at who we have behind the bench. We have one of the best groomers of young men and one of the best assistant coaches in the NAHL. Former Billings Bull Layne Sedevie, and former AWHL champ Garrett Roth. It’s up to the 25 guys who wear the cat on their uniform to listen and learn from two of the league’s best leaders. It’s not where you start the season that counts, it’s how you grow and mature into champions, which the Bismarck Bobcats have done for four straight years, and which with little doubt they will for a fifth year. In 2010, the showcase was a disaster, but as the season went along, coach Byron Pool took what he had and was able to teach the young men how to be champions. On May 9, a 3-0 win over Fairbanks gave the Bobcats a national championship.
