Bismarck, North Dakota. The Bobcats come off the Showcase with a 2-2 record. Now they open up their den for those of us who work with the team and what we hope will be a sixth Central Division title. We are a long way from finding out if the recruiting Layne and Garrett did over the summer will result in a sixth straight title. Here is what you can expect when you arrive at the den on Friday. You can expect their fifth straight Central Division banner to be hung up, and you can also expect to watch this year’s version of the Bobcats tee it up with last year’s number two team in the country, the Wild. You can also expect the Bobcats to arrive on the ice via limo. This hanging of the championship banner never gets old for those of us who cover the Bobcats. We just think it speaks volumes about our coaching staff, and our owner, Mr. Brigl. This is a first class organization. What can you say about the head coach entering his third straight year behind bench for his hometown team the Bobcats? When you think Layne Sedevie, you think winner. I think he is a winner in more ways than one. I think that Layne Sedevie is a person that Jeremiahboyce.com is proud to call not only a first class person, but a coach who doesn’t get enough respect around the league. It isn’t easy being the general manager of the Bobcats, but Layne Sedevie is never afraid of Jeremiahboyce.com and he is always willing to take time for us. Now let me introduce his assistant, Garrett Roth. Garrett is so friendly with the media. Coach Roth always has a smile on his face when he deals with Jeremiahboyce.com. I think that Thom Brigl made a outstanding choice when he decided who would be Layne’s right hand man. I say that because not only does he know the game from a player’s perspective, but he also knows the game from a coaching perspective as well. I remember watching Garrett Roth when he was a player. I always had a suspicion that when he left the den as a player, that he would come back and help make a championship team. So far he has helped Layne put together a team that has been dominant in the Central Division over the past five years, and who has the potential to make it six straight years. Just because the Bobcats are 2-2 right now doesn’t mean that their road to Frisco is derailed. This team has two captains that I think both have the habit of winning down. I wouldn’t be surprised if Layne and Garrett are hoisting the Central cup for a sixth straight year to get their second Robertson Cup.
