Coming up on today’s Sheriff’s Patrol, you will hear from a native of Eagan Minnesota, so sit back and enjoy while I spend time with a player who I think has the opportunity to become something special. You will notice that today’s article will have no veteran in it. I wanted it that way, because I have been really impressed with how the rookies and veterans have come together this season. One of the newest Cats to be on the sheriff’s radar is Cullen Willox. I asked Willox if he has noticed a difference between the NAHL and his high school hockey? Willox tells the Sheriff Patrol that “in high school, you would be half way through your season by now, but in the NAHL you play 60 games.” As for how he became a Bobcat, Cullen said scouts from the Bobcats saw him play at his school, and they liked what they saw. When I asked him who he would want to play like, he said, and it shouldn’t surprise you, none other than Charlie Coyle from the Minnesota Wild. Willox said that Charlie is a big physical forward. When it comes to what the Sheriff heard on the ice on Wednesday morning, Cullen said “that is just Layne’s way of getting us to work harder”. Cullen also said for someone who doesn’t know Layne it could be intimidating. When the Sheriff Patrol asked Cullen what makes the team so special, he said “I think that we bond well together.” Also when I asked Cullen about the team’s 7-2 start, he said “it’s really fun to be a part of the team.” I then asked if the 7-2 start would make you want to relax, he then stated “no, it makes me want to work harder.”

I also got a chance to sit down with Huba Sekesi and Joonas Huovinen. I would like to welcome Huba first. Huba is 6’1″ and according to Sekesi his favorite move is the back hand under the defenseman’s stick and skate by him. Like his teammate and Bobcats Assistant Captain Filip Starzynski, Huba has also played for his country, Germany, in the World Junior Olympics against teams like the USA and Canada. When it comes to Mike at Healthway, Sekesi states “he is really fun to work with, and they have everything that a hockey player would need”.

Now I would also like to welcome another shining star from the Bismarck Bobcats, Joonas Huovinen, who is from Finland. Joonas and I talked about what he likes to eat, and he said “chicken pasta, I eat that a lot in my country.” I then went on to ask Joonas about his heroic game winning goal against the Blizzard, and Huovinen said, “I was playing with a lot of emotion when I scored”.
