Bismarck, ND. On Friday night, the Bobcats and the Blizzard met for the final time in the regular season. We had a battle for second place going on in the Central division. But little did we know it would go through three periods without anybody getting on the scoreboard. Aaron Nelson was in the net for the Bobcats. Nelson played outstanding. It looked like it was going to be a battle between two great goalies, and for most of the game that’s what we had. In overtime there would be no scoring, but in the shootout it would be a different story. Thomas Williams from the Blizzard was the only one to light the lamp and put the game to bed. None of the Bobcats would score in the shootout. This is not the way you want start a five game home stand. The Bobcats look to rebound tonight when they host their Highway 83 rivals, the Minot Minotauros. Brookings plays in Aberdeen tonight and is currently 4 points behind Bismarck in the standings. Minot is currently 11 points behind the Bobcats in the standings with Aberdeen trailing the Bobcats by 26 points. In my opinion, last night’s game was totally unacceptable. When you are fighting for the playoffs and you can’t even pull off one lousy goal in your own den, well that’s just ridiculous and the Bobcats know that. I expect the Bobcats to light a fire under their butts and play much better. If they don’t play much better than last night, the Bobcats will have to answer to this reporter. I don’t care if they yell at me because it’s time to quit making excuses and I think the coaches know that. The calendar says it’s almost playoff time and it’s time to quit pussyfooting around. The End.
