This will be a huge loss for the Pacers in more ways than one. After being dormant for so many years the Pacers are finally back on the map with Larry Bird’s leadership. Indiana has been trying to rebuild since Reggie Miller retired in 2005. Larry Bird has had multiple roles with the Pacers. He was a head coach before becoming president of basketball operations. This is a man who grew up in the heartland and has been through the NBA wars before, so he will return to the NBA even if it won’t be with the Pacers. He is a legend. A man by the name of Donnie Walsh is being talked about as a replacement for Larry Bird.
