In this article, you will meet the young man who slayed Goliath, aka the Minot Minotauros, for first place this last weekend for the Bismarck Bobcats. We also learned of a new hockey terminology that I never knew of until I met Mr. Andrew Miller of the Bobcats earlier today, which is what can happen to a goalie if he is over worked and does not have proper rest, “tired hips”. That would explain why the Bobcats have a two goalie rotation. This gives Head Coach Layne Sedevie two goalies that he count on to stop the piece of “vulcanized” rubber.

We also found out from Miller that high school hockey is a sanctioned sport in Colorado, but there is also “Club” hockey in the state which is of a higher caliber of play and involves more traveling. It is no surprise who Andrew follows for an NHL team, and that is his home state Colorado Avalanche. He also follows the play of goalie Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings who he has admired for years.

When it came to his teammate and fellow goalie from Hibbing, Minnesota, Ryan Ullan, Miller had nothing but glowing remarks for the help he has received on goaltending in the NAHL in addition to help from Head Coach Sedevie, a former college D1 goalie for Bemidji State, Mn., which is the division that Andrew wants to play hockey in the future.

It was a pleasure to meet this fine young man who now plays for the first place Bobcats, and we would like to wish him and his teammates good luck at their attempt to bring the Robertson Cup back to the Bobcats Den in Bismarck.
